Ultimately belonging among true greats, 2013 ranked as one of the most challenging vintages. It was a small production with significantly reduced crop loads due to the unlucky combination of rain and cool early-season temperatures in June that disrupted flowering. Fortunately, the all-at-once sunny spells of summer enable the grapes to ripen, producing a wine with lovely fruit intensity and finesse.
GUIDE HACHETTE: A well-crafted 2013 vintage that is beginning to age nicely. It shows an attractive ruby hue. The bouquet opens up with delicate notes, balanced between ripe fruit and spicy oak. The attack is supple, developing into delightful sensations of density with a revelation of fruity aromas and quality tannins on the palate.
